Luck Be A Lady....

Ralph Lauren sure knows how to dress a lady!  His Fall 09' runway show was amazing.  Here are a few of my favourites:

I love the fur collar on the jacket!  It's such a great way to pump up a classic look like this.

This is the most amazing flowy dress, you can take it from elegant to casual just by changing the accessories.

The colour of this cardigan is unbelievable, I so want it!

This look is stunning, I'm speechless...which is a very rare thing.

I think this is my favourite look of their whole show.  It's the epitome of a lady.

These are just a few of the amazing pieces in this line, you should check them all out here.

Have a stylish day!

A Shopping We Will Go

Hey Fashionistas,

I'm going SHOPPING!!!  Yay!!  My sister and I are taking off for the rest of this week on a girls shopping trip.  We have so been in need of one, and now that Fall is here, we are finally going!  My sister is on her vacation right now, so we thought this was the perfect time.  I'm so excited!  I can't wait to get to the stores.  We are leaving tomorrow, so I thought while I'm gone, I will leave you with a short post each day, so you don't miss me too much.  How sweet, I know.  I will also be twittering, so you can keep up-to-date with what I'm seeing and doing if you'd like.

Well I've got to get to packing, so this will be all for today.  Posts will start tomorrow and run till the weekend.  I'll be back next week with lots of new updates on what I've seen.  Till then!

Keep Stylish!

# 8, 9 &10

Hey there,

Today is the last day of FFF.  We are now onto numbers 8, 9 and 10.  I won't prolong this, so here we go!

# 8 Military jacket.  I've been loving this trend ever since this Balmain jacket came out.

# 9 Colours.  Fall fashion is filled with gorgeous colours.  My favourites have to be the jewel tones.  I'm a huge jewellry girl, so this is something close to my heart.

Amethyst:  The print on this is stunning.

Jade:  This is such a great colour, it's so fun and glamourous.

Gold:  Adore the one-shoulder style of this one.

Hot Pink:  I'm a pink girl!

Black and White:  I'm in LOVE with this Oscar de la Renta.

And you can't go wrong with a little DVF.

# 10 Dark nail colours.  When I wrote my list the other day, I hadn't seen the new October Allure in which I found (and fell in love with) Chanel's new Jade polish.  Such a great shade, and I think it acutally looks just as good on the nails as it does in the bottle.  Or the October Harper's Bazaar where I seen YSL's Stormy Grey.  So I've revised my list to include these two.

Chanel's Jade.

And of course, Chanel's Blue Satin.

Yves Saint Laurent Nail Lacquer in Stormy Grey.

Now, of course these are a bit on the expensive side for polish, and you can find plenty of similar shades for cheaper, however, I think that it's fun to splurge on nail polish once in a while.

I few other colours I'm loving are Essie's Sole Mate (a dark burgundy/purple/brown) and Finshnet Stockings (a lighter wine red) and Orly's Enchanted Forest (a dark forest green).

I hope you all enjoyed this, and I'm sure I will be adding to the list in the coming weeks and months!

Happy Fall Shopping!!

# 5, 6 & 7

Welcome to day two of "Fabulous Fall Fashion (FFF)"!!  I hope you all enjoyed yesterday's post.  Did it inspire you to get out to the stores (if you haven't been already)?  One thing I forgot to mention yesterday, was that these images are just for inspiration.  I'm not saying you have to go out and buy the actual designer pieces.  Hardly anyone could afford all that!!  I was just giving you examples of the things I love for Fall.  You can find most of these same styles at bargain prices.  That's what I'm going to do!  Now, on with the show!!

# 5 Sequins.  I meant what I said the other day, sequins really are a girl's best friend.  They are the perfect thing to wear when you are wanting that something extra.  They draw attention to you, but in a good way, and they show that you are confident with who you are and what you love!!  What could be better than that?

# 6 40's.  The re-take on the 40's fashion style is great.  There is so much tailoring in the clothes.  They make you look and feel like a woman.

# 7 Shoes.  There are tons of great styles out this Fall!  It really is the year of the shoe.

Cutout bootie - a nice little statement piece.  Very wearable both now and later.  As the weather turns you could pair them with coloured (or black) tights.

Peep-toe bootie - I love the slouchyness of this one in particular, the grey colour is a nice break from the usual black.  And the same applies as for the cutout, when it's cold out, just pair with tights.

Motorcycle boot - I love these almost as much as I love a good riding boot.  They are the perfect thing, since they are right on target for Fall, and they're comfortable!  You can't beat that.  Put these on with jeans (tucked in of course), riding pants, leggings, flowy dresses and tights (depending on the colour and print, but it could work, kinda the whole sweet-tough look), and for those of you lucky enough to have warm weather right now, with shorts.

Slouchy boot - Again, I adore the grey colour!  I'm so in love with the look of them over jeans with a fabulous coat.  They are the perfect go-everywhere boot.

Flats - For those of you who love a great flat, good news, there are some delicious ones this season.  They come in all sorts of colours and fabrics.  Two of my favourites are the leopard and the python prints (I have a thing for animal patterns).  They are a nice update to a classic, and a perfect mix of fashion meets function.

I hope you all enjoyed today's installment of FFF, tune in tomorrow for the rest!

# 2, 3 and 4

Since I've been away for so long, I thought I'd combine some of my Fall favs into one post.  Today we are going to be focusing on numbers 2, 3 and 4.

#2 is thigh-high boots.  I love these!  Perfect for early fall paired with a short skirt, or shorts.  Great for winter over leggings or even skinny jeans.  You can dress them up or dress them down, depending on what look you're going for.

And they don't have to be thigh-high (although I adore those purple Marc Jacobs), any height that is close to the knee is in this season.

My favourite look has got to be the the a whole "rocker chick glam."

# 3 is dramatic coats.   There are so many styles of coats in this season, so you can take your pick of the bunch.  There must be a coat for every possible mood or situation.  The ones I'm loving are:

Structured - exaggerated details, tailored pieces....perfect for those days when  you're feeling "strong."  Pair this with a structured bag for a ladylike look.

Bright - Add a punch of colour to your wardrobe with a topper in a eye-catching hue.  Just make sure that what you wear underneath is neutral so that it doesn't overwhelm.

Camel - Nothing says "classic" like a camel trench.  So very "effortless chic."

Wrap/Blanket - Loving this!  So easy, yet such a statement.

Leather - A nod to the 80s.  They were seen on the runways paired with everything from leggings to gowns.

# 4 feminine dresses.  The two types I'm loving are the day dress and the flowy dress.

The day dress is back.  It is the perfect thing to slip on when you are in a rush, but still want to look fabulous.  All you have to do is just zip and go.  If you want to add a little something, just grab some bangles or dangling earrings, pair with booties and matching tights and your good.  You can even belt it at the waist for an hourglass shape if it's not already nipped.  Hey, why not toss on your leather jacket if the air's a bit chilly!

The flowy dress is a great staple low-key dress.  You can throw it on with a pair of boots, booties, closed-toe or peep-toe pumps.  It's perfect for Saturdays out with the girls, or even for running around town, if you so please.

That's all for today!!  See you all, same place, tomorrow!!

Hey All,

So sorry I haven't posted lately!  I've been sick.  I'm hoping that I'm getting better and will be back to updating regularly very soon.  But for right now, I'm just going to take it easy and get lots of beauty rest!  Just wanted to let you all know that I've not abandoned you and that I will be back soon.

The Boyfriend Jacket

My first reaction upon seeing menswear coming into fashion was, "oh no, no woman can possibly look good in this!"  But my decision was changed the first time I seen a boyfriend jacket walk the runway.  I fell instantly in love...not just high-school infatuation, but full on 'I want to marry you and live with you forever' love.

Suddenly I was daydreaming about how chic I would look walking the streets wearing it with my jeans and a tee.

Or how refined I'd look with it effortlessly cinched at the waist with a skinny belt over a cocktail dress a'la Chloe.

Or how corporate I'd look if I paired it with a pencil skirt or black pants, like this K Karl Lagerfeld one.

It's one of the best pieces for Fall I think.  It's so versitile you can get tons of different looks with it.  And the fun thing is that everyone has gotten in on the trend, so you can find a jacket at even the lowest price.  Now there is no reason not to indulge your inner fashionista while on a budget!

What I'm Loving for Fall....Everything!

Hey fashionistas!!

I'm totally loving most of the things that are in for Fall this year.  I was having doubts about the whole 80's revival thing, but its actually been tastefully done.  It's more like the good parts of the 80's.  So I thought I'd give you a short list of the things I'm loving, and then over the next few days, go more in to detail on each one.  Here's my list so far:

  1. The boyfriend blazer
  2. Thigh-high boots (or at least over the knee)
  3. Dramatic Coats
  4. Feminine dresses
  5. Sequins -sequins are a girls best friend (really)
  6. The 40's influence
  7. The shoes...oh the shoes!  I want them all!
  8. The military jacket...Balman anyone??
  9. The colours (especially jade and red)
  10. Dark nail colours (Chanel's Blue Satin has to be my fav)
I'll be back tomorrow with a detailed view of the one of the above.  Till then, get out your Vogue, and Bazaar and pick out your favourites!

Till later,
SB

I'm Back!!

What's up fashion peeps?

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been 3 whole years since I started this blog. I'm so disappointed I didn't keep up with it. I'm in need of some updating I see!

We went on our trip to Florida as planned, although we stayed for 7 weeks instead of 5. It was great. Totally relaxing, just what I needed. I got some flats (as pre-planned), they were Linea Paolo leopard print. Completely adorable.

The reason I've been away for so long is because I've been battling anorexia for the past 4 years. I went pretty downhill for a while there, but I've managed to come back from it. Only the Lord saved me, and with the help of my team of supporters He blessed me with I managed to get through. I'm so thankful to be alive. Think of all the fashion I would have missed out on! jk I truly am blessed to be here and I'm so glad to be back blogging again.

I can't wait to get you all up to date on what I'm loving for Fall!

Love ya!
