A Little Miley Winter-Wear

Now I know that this picture is from last year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but I really love this outfit that Miley has on.  One reason I like to watch the parade each year is to see what winter-wear the celebs are sporting.  It gives me great ideas for my own outer-wear.  I really think the winter white coat Miley is wearing is so cute, and the riding boots just add a great touch.  The hat and flip-top mittens are something I think I might try knitting for myself, and the plaid scarf finishes the look of gorgeously.  It's a great chic, yet playful look.  Perfect for the cold weather!

Grecian Chic

I haven't really gotten on the whole gladiator sandal trend, but I think I might now!  These Belle by Sigerson Morrison Specchio gladiator sandal boots are adorable!  And the best part, they are only $250!!  What could be better??  Oh, and by the way, they have a detachable leg part, so you can wear them just as sandals as well!  I love the way they look on, and this outfit is so cute.  Makes me feel like going on a vacation right now!

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans out there!!  Don't forget to Thank God for all His wonderful blessings!  Have a blessed day!!

A Little "Pop"

This Marni ruched suede pochette is adorable.  I really like the colour of it, what a great way to add a little "pop" to an outfit.  I think it would be so much fun with a black cocktail dress for Christmas gatherings.  I also love the way they added it to this outfit on net-a-porter:

Too cute right?

Lovin' the Cargos

I found these Sass & Bide "Cracker Jacs" cargo pants on shopbop and thought they would go perfect with the Michael Kors booties I showed you yesterday!  What do you think?  I personally love them, and I'm really not a cargo pant type of girl!  lol

Booties to Work In

Love these Michael Kors booties!  How adorable!  My Dad runs an aggregates company, so I know all about work boots, and these are the cutest ones I've ever seen.  Now all I need is a pink hard hat, and I'm ready to visit him on the job!

A Few Favourites

As promised, I will show you my favourites from Althea and Carol Hannah's collections.

These are a few of my favs from Althea's.  She does an amazing job of dressing a woman, and flattering her body.

I love, love, love Carol Hannah's collection.  The entire thing was amazing!  Like I've said before, I'm a dress girl, so she is a designer after my own heart!  Everything that she made was gorgeous, and I found myself wanting a good majority of her clothes!

Well, I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!  See you on Monday!

P.S. The best thing...all the looks are being auctioned off here!  Check it out!

And the Winner Is...

Well, last night was the final project runway, and Irina won.  She had a great collection that she did a ton of work on and it was really well thought out, I really liked it, especially the helmets, they were amazing and just completed the whole show, I thought.  Here are some of my favourites:

Tomorrow I will show you my favourites from Althea and Carol Hannah's collections!

Have a great day all!

Loving South Beach!

As you can probably tell by now, I'm a big Project Runway fan.  When I was in High School I wanted to become a designer, so I love watching how everyone designs their own interpretation of each challenge.  It's such a great place to learn and get creative insight.

Since the finalle of this season is tomorrow, I thought I would show a favourite of mine from Carol Hannah's designs.  She is the other designer in the final 3 with Althea and Irina.  They are an amazing group of designers and I think each of them deserves to win!  I'm sure they all will have great careers ahead of them!  I can't wait to see what they each do next.

Have a happy day all,

Adorable Wrap

This look with this amazing over-sized sweater wrap is gorgeous.  I think this is one of my very favourites of Althea's designs.  What a great piece for fall!  She is another one of the immensely talented designers on this season of Project Runway.  I can hardly wait to see her collection on Thursday!

Have a wonderful day!

Errand Dressing

I love this outfit Blake Lively is wearing.  It's a great way to show off this season's patterned tights, while still keeping warm.  There's a great balance of textures and layers here.  I love it!!  Perfect weekend wear for running errands around town.

This outfit that Hilary Duff has on is the perfect example of layering at its best!  I'm a huge fan of this type of dressing, and I just adore big scarves and even bigger earrings.  This is definately a look you should give a try, especially now that the weather is condusive to it...I know I will.

My Heritage

I came across this awesome website the other day called Smotter, it's a place where you can put together a collection of things (clothing, bags, shoes, accessories, etc..) sort of like a collage.  When you're done, you get to save it to your profile, and then it tells you where you can buy each article and how much it costs.  It's so much fun!  A girl can waste hours trying out different combinations.  I have been making all sorts of different outfits, but this is the one that I want to share with you today.  I love this one in particular because it reminds me so much of my heritage.  I'm three-quarters Scandinavian (Finnish and Norwegian), and like I've said before, I love all things knitted.  This to me would be the perfect outfit that I would wear if I ever get to go and visit my grandparents' homelands.  I love the colours, the intricacy of the fair isle, and the warmth that these things bring to mind.  Seeing them all put together like this makes me want to buy a plane ticket and get going!!  I love that feeling, it's like a re-connecting with something deep down inside.  Go on over to the website and check it out, and see what it inspires in you!

Have a great day!

Take a Stroll

This shopbop lookbook "A Walk in the Woods" spoke to my soul.  Everything in this lookbook goes in line with my whole "country" style right now, I love it!!  I thought I'd show you a couple of the outfits that I adore and would love to have right now, and I highly encourage you to pop on over to the shopbop website and check out the rest of the looks in this lookbook.

I hope you enjoy these as well!  Sorry today's post is mostly pictures, but I'm pre-planning (I'm writing this Tuesday morning), since I'm going to get my H1N1 shot today.  :-)  Gotta keep myself healthy!!

Be back soon (and probably with quite a sore arm),

Sparkle and Shine

This dress is from the shopbop lookbook Last Days of Disco.  When I first seen it, I thought it was the perfect dress for those hoilday parties that we having coming up in the near future.  The grey colour is huge right now, and the sparkle to it, just makes the look.  The drape of the dress will look great no matter what your shape.  I promise, it will make you look like a Christmas goddess!  Keep the rest of your accessories minimal and you'll be the hit of the party.

A Great Look

I loved this "Look of the Day" from Instyle.com on November 7th.  It's Carrie Underwood leaving from a taping of "The Late Show with David Letterman."

I adore how she looks casual, yet dressy.  The way she tops her ruffle blouse with the puffer vest is adorable, I could totally see myself doing the same.  It just makes the whole look.  I also love the length of the vest, it's nice that it's longer than most.  I find that they usually hit at the widest part of the body, therefore, making everyone look much bigger than they acutally are, but the this one seems to give a nice slimming effect.  I've got to find myself one of those!!  Plus, the shoes and bag are too cute!!  Love!!

Have a great Monday everyone!!

A Touch of Romance

I love this entire look from Willow!  It's so romantic.  I love everything about it, the pleating, the crepe fabric, the muted colours, the drape, everything!

As you can see by yesterday, and today's posts, I have warmer weather on my brain!  But really, what better way to beat off the drearies than with some spring wardrobe planning?

Have a great weekend!

A Little Pre-Vacation Planning

Here's a great look from Tibi if you are planning a winter vacation to somewhere sunny.  I love the coral reef pattern and colours of the dress.  The jacket is also by Tibi, and makes a great cover-up for when the evening gets a little cool.  Pairing the dress with the gold Christian Louboutin gladiator sandals and metalic Anya Hindmarch bag tops off the outfit, making the overall look stunning.

Nothing is more fun than planning a fabulous wardrobe for a vacation I think!

Have a great day!

Over the Shoulder

Keeping with the country theme I'm so in love with right now, this bag fits in perfect.  It's the Silver Springs bag from the Jack Rabit Collection.  I like how it's a bit rugged, and wore-in looking.  It's functional, has great shape to it, and the colour is awesome because it goes with anything.  The price isn't even that bad, being just under $600.  It's fun because the design is different from your regular large slouchy shoulder bag.  I know I'm loving it!

Expressive Toppers

In the November Issue of Harper's Bazaar there is an article on winter coats that I just love.  I think, especially when you live in the north like I do, that a winter coat is a very important part of your cold-weather wardrobe.  It something that you should put a good deal of thought into, because you will be wearing it for a good 4 months and pretty much everyday.  Since it will be the first thing people see (and sometimes the only thing they see, because you only take it off when you're inside), you should choose one that makes a statement, one that says a bit about who you are.  I picked out a few from the spread that I like, and that say something about who I am.

Bluemarine

Burberry Prorsum

Michael Kors

So keep this in mind when you're out shopping for you new winter topper, and trust me, you'll be glad that you did.  Clothes are all about expressing who you are, so don't let your coat cover that all up!

Add an Edge

Hello Everyone,

I don't know about you, but I really find the leather mini skirts a fun addition to fall dressing.  They're cute, more practical than a normal lighter-weight skirt for the cold weather, and they're very on trend right now.  Here are a few of my favourites:

I love this one because of the white colour, and the banding on it is beautiful!

The chains make this one stand out more than just your average skirt.

I adore the balloon hem on this one!  It's like a leather ballerina skirt.

They're a great way to add a little edge to your outfit, without going too far.  Just pair it with a more feminine top.  I love the idea of having a peasant blouse combined with the skirt with the baloon hem, and then wearing cowboy boots for an edgy-country look...you know how I'm all about the country style right now!

Have a great day!
